What output do you usually deliver for a client?
I work with a diverse range of clients, leading and collaborating with all levels (C-suite, middle managers, cross functions), drawing departments out of silos and working towards common, insight-driven goals. For most clients my main output usually consists of a sales and marketing strategy including a content strategy for web and social. Output may also include service and product design. Design thinking is a highly adaptable process that can be applied to any business challenge, only limited by your imagination.
When will you be able to start my project?
Anywhere from 1 to 3 months from the time we first discuss your brief depending on availability and the scale of your project.
How do you work with clients remotely?
I’m used to jumping into new projects quickly, understanding the current situation, identifying problems and how I can apply my skills and experience to best serve the client. I work remotely with clients in other cities and countries and this has led me to embrace technology to communicate effectively, deliver high quality output and to meet strict deadlines.
My go-to platforms are Asana for project management; Dropbox and WeTransfer for file sharing; Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint for document production; Skype, Facetime, Google Hangouts and Whatsapp for communicating. I send regular updates in between via email, usually with a 2 minute vlog attached to get to the points quickly.
I use these platforms because, through a lot of trial and error I have found them to be the most intuitive, productive and effective for both myself and my clients. I’m not limited to these platforms and can slot into using whatever is integrated into your business.
How long does a project take?
The average project takes a minimum of 3 months to 9 months. One project usually turns into several once I’m on board and so I work with some clients well past 12 months.
What technology platforms do you use?
My go-to platforms right now are Asana for project management; Dropbox and WeTransfer for file sharing; Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint for document production; Skype, Facetime, Google Hangouts and Whatsapp for communicating. I send regular updates in between via email, usually with a 2 minute vlog (via Loom) attached to get to the points quickly.
We’ve already done our research, can you help develop the strategy?
Yes, depending on the research you have done. If the insights are there, I can produce the strategy however if there is information missing that I deem to be essential to strategy design, or if there is uncertainty about the proof of findings, I am more than happy to discuss the additional research recommendations.
Can you do a stand-alone research project?
Yes. I specialise in in-depth interviews because they produce the most insightful results. I also facilitate focus groups and brainstorming groups (for your team or your customers).
Do you work with businesses outside Australia?
Yes. I cut my teeth in pharma in Australia, then spent 10 years based in London working with UK, European and US companies, and now I’m back in Australia (based outside Melbourne) working with both local and overseas companies. Logistics are slightly more complex but thanks to the technology available, it’s a pretty smooth ride.
